Privacy policy

This policy explains what TrueMargin stores about you and why. We keep it to what the product needs.

The controller of your personal data is Brandon Ta, an individual trading as TrueMargin. Contact: support@trytruemargin.com.

What we collect

• Your email address, to sign you in and send the messages you ask for.
• The CSV and TXT files you upload (payment, order, deposit and label exports) and the orders, fees and margins calculated from them, plus the cost figures you enter.
• Basic usage events (for example “file uploaded”) and error logs, to run and fix the service. They do not contain your file contents.
• Subscription status from Polar. Card details go to Polar only; we never see or store them.
• Optional AI features: if you add your own API key, it is stored encrypted and used only for your requests. Order figures are sent to the provider you choose (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or OpenRouter) when you use an AI feature, never buyer names or addresses.

The free calculator

The calculator on the home page runs entirely in your browser. The file you drop there is not uploaded.

How long we keep it

• Original uploaded files: deleted automatically after 90 days.
• Calculated orders and margins and your account: until you delete your account or ask us to.
• Payment webhook records: 30 days.

Who processes it for us

• Contabo GmbH (Germany): EU-based servers that host TrueMargin and its database.
• Polar: payments, invoices and VAT as merchant of record.
• Zoho ZeptoMail: sign-in codes and service emails.
• The AI provider you choose, only if you turn on an AI feature.

We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising trackers.

Your rights

You can see and export your figures in the app. To correct or delete your data, or to ask anything about it, email support@trytruemargin.com; we reply within 2 working days.
